Ate here twice so far. This one had to be my favorite one, the Dim-sum that came out was hot and fresh.
It will probably become our go to restaurant in LA. This place is great good price and big portions for great food.
They have extra servicw walking around to make sure you feel welcome and they are ready for any request.
Very happy with this place! -

Ranked as Top 3 Chinese Brunch place in LA area. Maybe it's because I had too many expectations going into this restaurant, I just don't think it's that good.. Coming from Cleveland, I feel like the only two places where we have Chinese Brunch are all better than this.
The Shrimp Dumpling with Gold Leaf is definitely fancy and creative and the rest of the stuff we ordered are just normal. Overall this place for me is just OKAY.
Wait time is not good.. That's why I give it 3 not 4. -

What's with the low reviews? Cause this place had bomb ass dim sum. I suspect cause the prices are pretty high (~$25 per person) but who cares? You get what you pay for.
Bear with me, since I don't know the English names for a lot of this stuff nor do I know the romanization for the Chinese words lol.
The har gow - 5. Was perfect, shrimp was fresh, perfectly cooked.
Chuerng Fun (shrimp wrapped in long rice noodles) - 5. not too oily, it was perfection. I liked this even more than the har gow.
mustard greens with hoisin sauce - 5. bitter mustard green hearts.
black buns with gold leaf paint with the runny yolk - 5. Perfectly done. I'm not the biggest fanatic of this, but if you are, get it. I'm hankering to try the dan tat and the milk bun and other desserts next time.
congee with century egg - 5. perfect for two, really well done. I don't always like century egg but I'd get this again. The condiments were good - I got extra green onions. A dash of white pepper, and it's perfect.
char siu bao - the soft steamed one, not the browned one. so fucking amazing. I'm getting it again. It's not even my jam.
next time, turnip cake, my fav, dan tat, reordering some of these items, and getting a whole bunch of other shit! -

Great made to order dim sum spot. I think there might have been some carts, but it's best (though not as fun) to order off the menu. The menu is pretty helpful, it has pictures and descriptive enough titles.
It is possibly pricier than other places - it's one of the first times I left a dim sum place very full, but not sick from the greasiness. Win!
I enjoyed some of their unique offerings that I either don't see at other dim sum places or maybe I just miss seeing these items on the menu.
I liked #67 French Style Baked BBQ Pork Bun. It had a nice crispy exterior. The black dumplings with gold leaf are too cute. Gimmicky, but is fun. The cylindrical fried tofu were delicious. I wasn't sure about ordering the milk bun, milk or egg tart, and the durian pastries but I'm glad I did.
I think it must be at least $25-$35 per person fyi. I'm hoping they use better ingredients to justify the price. The execution of the dishes is better than other places though. Despite eating a ton of deep fried items, I felt fine afterwards so it was worth it to me. I saw a manager looking guy keeping an eye on things and shuffling back and forth. I think it would be a nice touch if he stopped by random tables to ask how the food and service is going. -

If you live in the San Gabriel area, then you know what Sea Harbour is all about! It has become one of the go-to spots for dim sum since everyone up and left Chinatown and moved to SGV and Alhambra. You'll have to wait no matter what time of day you come for dim sum, but the one thing I can say about this place is that in the last ten years I've been coming here, the food has not wavered in quality and taste. And in the end, that's all I really care about. The downside is that it can get pricey... and they charge a fee for tea.
Service can be a bit spotty, but the best advice I can offer you is once you get seated, know what you want... and treat it like Din Tai Fung. There's a slip of paper and a pen on your table that you just fill out with the numbers and they bring everything to you within ten minutes.
If you want suggestions on what to order, can't go wrong with the House No. 1 Baked BBQ Pork Bun, Steamed BBQ Pork Buns, Steamed Chicken Feet in Brown Sauce, Shrimp Dumplings, Pork & Shrimp Dumpling with Truffle Sauce, and the Stir-Fry Noodle with Soy Sauce and Bean Sprouts.
